Default Drive-In Movies at the Aloha Stadium

The Aloha Stadium on the shore of Pearl Harbor currently gets most of its income from football games, food concessions, and the swap meet and outdoor marketplaces that circle the outside of the stadium every Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday. Starting in February of 2010, there will be a new event at the Aloha Stadium, a monthly drive-in movie that will be able to accommodate 3000 people or as many as 500 cars.

The movies will be shown on a 40 foot inflatable screen and the drive-in will be able to accommodate up to 3000 people or 500 cars. Theater goers will be able to listen to movies on their car radio or watch from an artificial turf area in front of the screen.

Honolulu's last drive-in movie theater was the Kam Drive-In near Pearlridge Center, which closed in 1998.
