Maui Swap Meet is Moving After 17 Years

The Maui Swap Meet is a great place to buy Hawaii souvenirs at better prices then you'll see in Lahaina and other Maui towns and resorts and for 17 years it has been held every Saturday morning, from 7:00 a.m. until noon or 1:00 p.m. in the center of Kahului, on a piece of land on Puunene Avenue between Kamehameha Avenue and Wakea Avenue.

Maui County will soon start building a affordable homes on that land so the Maui Swap Meet will be moving soon to a new 4.5 acre site on the campus of Maui Community College. The first Saturday swap in the new location will be on January 3, 2009 and the grand opening celebration will be held on the following Saturday, January 10, 2009.

During the transition time between now the grand opening, here is the swap meet schedule:

2008 December 20 (Saturday) - Swap Meet at Old Location
2008 December 21 (Sunday) - Swap Meet at Temporary MCC Site
2008 December 27 (Saturday) - No Swap Meet
2008 December 28 (Sunday) - Swap Meet at Temporary MCC Site
2008 December 03 (Saturday) - Pre Grand Opening at New MCC Site
2008 December 10 (Saturday) - Grand Opening at new MCC Site
