The Penal Colony on Kahoolawe

Information about the penal colony on the island of Kahoolawe Island in Hawaii.

There was a penal Colony (prison colony) near Kaulana Bay on Kahoolawe Island beginning around the 1830s.

The colony was shut down in the 1850s after the law that established it was repealed.
