Discovery Airlines provided inter-island air transportation for a few months in the year 1990. The airline shut down in July 1990 after it was accused of violating a law that airlines in the United States must be controlled by American citizens. 75% of the company's stock was owned by Phillip Ho, head of the Japanese real estate development company Nansay Hawaii.
