NAME: Kanealole Trail
LENGTH: 0.7 mile / 1.1 kilometers
DESCRIPTION: from Hawaii Nature Center up the Makiki Valley
TRAILHEAD: Hawaii Nature Center (2131 Makiki Heights Drive)
LOCATION: Honolulu, South Oahu Island, Hawaii
WITHIN: Honolulu Mauka Trail System
WITHIN: Makiki Forest Rereation Area

The Kanealole Trail intersects with the Makiki Valley Trail at about the 0.7 mile point.

Trailhead Directions:
From the intersection of Nehoa and Maiki Streets, proceed toward the mountain and turn left on Makiki Heights Drive. Continue for approximately 0.5 mile until the road makes a sharp left tum (look for a row of mailboxes on the right hand side of the road). At the bend in the road, proceed straight ahead through an open gate where there is a sign on the right side that says "Makiki Forest Recreation Area." Park in the parking lot on the left side of the road before the green iron gate and continue up the road on foot.
