The Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk Hotel was constructed on the property of the former Ohana Waikiki Tower and Ohana Waikiki Village hotels. Those two hotels (originally known as the Outrigger Waikiki Tower and Outrigger Waikiki Village hotels) were demolished to make room for the Waikiki Beach Walk redevelopment project.

Outrigger Hotels & Resorts and Embassy Suites Hotels announced the first franchise
agreement between the two hotel companies and the coming of the
first Embassy Suites hotel to Waikiki.
Outrigger will own and manage the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk, a twin-tower hotel
to be located in the heart of Outriggers planned $460 million Beach Walk Project.
