FROM THE ARTICLE: Some of the six buildings included in the 1.5-acre shorefront property were once part of the old Haleiwa Hotel. Herb and Helen Talbott designed the property in 1952 both as a family home and a destination for travelers. mix of studio, one, two, and three bedroom units. It is zoned R-5 for residential use and and retains transient vacation rental licenses on four of the 12 units. Two buildings from the old Hale‘iwa Hotel were towed in and lined up along the Ke Iki beachfront where they still sit today. The Hale‘iwa Hotel was built in 1889 and acted as an Officers Club during World War II. The Talbotts purchased the two cedar duplexes shortly before the hotel was razed.
