An earlier Waikiki Hotel known as the Seaside Hotel:

There was formerly another Waikiki lodging known as the "Seaside Hotel", which was located on the property now occupied by the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. That earlier hotel opened in 1907, it was situated on 10 oceanfront acres at Waikiki Beach and accommodatations were in separate cottages and tent units. As o0f 1924, the hotel's lease of the land at Helumoa was soon to expire. The royal Hawaiian Hotel opened on the property on February 1, 1927.
